G is for Girly

I have said this many times before but although I have an obsession with pink bordering on certifiable, I am not a exactly a girly gal. I don't wear dresses or skirts, almost never wear heels and daily grooming routine pretty much amounts to brushing my hair and tying it up in a bun. BUT...I always wear make-up (just a touch, mascara and blush), I have my toenails painted all of the time, I have a killer bag collection and I love to accessorize. Statement pieces of jewellery, are my thing. Anyway, I guess I have always had this underlying desire to be more of a typical girl, and despite my less than girly age (I fear I am approaching middle age too fast!) I am drawn to the feminine and cute in things.

The Anthropologie catalogue dropped into my mailbox today, and I am smitten with their latest shoe collection. I try to ration my exposure to Anthropologie as I know I could blow my life's savings on most of their wares, but I had just been browsing their collection online, then the catalogue appeared. Help!! Well, I figured it was destined to be.

I am not strictly a heels kind of gal, but when the occasion calls they are a deal breaker.

Wishlist: Office Makeover

When I was a child, I used to play a game that involved choosing my favourite item from each page of a catalogue, to create a fantasy purchase. Truth be told, I still do it today. Browsing Anthropologie online today, I chose some favourite items to redo my new office/study (still very much in the making, and very much a fantasy wishlist!). I went for a rustic, industrial, vintage vibe. Since I have so many coloured accessories and decorative pieces, I thought I would choose a natural palette to showcase it all.

HOLIDAY DREAMING...

I realise that it is a little soon to start pining for sunshine and cocktails on the beach. But, as I am sitting here looking out onto flurries of snow it occurred to me that there is no better remedy for bringing myself out of a Winter funk than a little day dreaming. What better way to kick it off than going window shopping! Anthropologie is first on my list for fabulous outfits that capture my imagination, and transport me to another time and place. So, this morning I decided I am going on a cruise, maybe to the Italian Riviera, or down the canals in Amsterdam and this is the perfect wardrobe...
