Julia Child at The Coop

The Harvard/MIT Coop has launched a collection of photos of Julia Child, taken by her husband Paul. Available to buy through the Harvard Coop, these photos show Julia going about her daily and beloved tasks of cooking, travelling and filming her famous TV programme, The French Chef. For those of you not familiar with the Grande Dame of French Cooking, read my tribute to her and you will get the picture. Class act.

The photographs come from The Julia Child Papers, Collection of the Schlesinger Library, at the Radcliffe Institute, Harvard University and give us a glimpse into the woman behind the TV personality. The delight is that they show the Julia we all came to love, exactly as she presented herself to the masses, with some very touching intimate glimpses into her private life. She really did live her passion for food.

Wouldn't these make a perfect present for the foodie in your life? I picture having a few hanging in my kitchen for inspiration! Kind of like a good luck charm, my fairy godmother of cuisine looking over my shoulder wishing me Bon Appetit!
