J is for Jonathan Adler

I have said it before, but Jonathan Adler is such a fresh and fun designer when it comes to home accessories. I love anything with a little quirky humour and cute style and Adler is the Grande Dame of this approach. He is a master at creating a clear and strong brand, from the packaging to the consistent style he reinforces year after year. I don't actually own any of his work, so he is also at the top of my "wish list".

Wishlist: Office Makeover

When I was a child, I used to play a game that involved choosing my favourite item from each page of a catalogue, to create a fantasy purchase. Truth be told, I still do it today. Browsing Anthropologie online today, I chose some favourite items to redo my new office/study (still very much in the making, and very much a fantasy wishlist!). I went for a rustic, industrial, vintage vibe. Since I have so many coloured accessories and decorative pieces, I thought I would choose a natural palette to showcase it all.

RETAIL THERAPY: Pedlars

"Stuff we love that you'll love too" is Pedlars' motto, and this could not be more true of their array of merchandise in my view. Charlie and Caroline Gladstone are the couple behind Pedlars, a British store specialising in unique and hard to find items that reflect their passion for travel and practicality, as well as fun. They have a vast range of vintage and contemporary items for the home, garden, pets and children which reflect a certain British quirkyness and sense of humour, as well as great taste. Without a shadow of a doubt I could snap up everything they sell.

It is their Vintage section that I love the most. Filled with reconditioned items such as Double Decker Bus destination signs, lighting and furniture both European and American. This stuff doesn't come cheap but then they did all the hard work to spruce it up!


Check out their range of Michelin Furniture, salvaged from an old factory in France then restored to its' former glory.


I love this industrial furniture, but the price tag files this firmly under "wishlist".
